The Inclusion Initiative Brand Book

 

The Inclusion Initiative is a new branch of the College of Humanities and the Arts of San Jose State University. Its purpose is to reinforce the value of the arts and humanities, the opportunity for students to explore a shared experience, provide students with a chance for professionalization, and most notably, Social Justice and Racial Equity.

This is a conceptual branding project. Starting with the logo, I wanted to apply the message of this new initiative with the concept of unity. Mashing two “U”’s together created a heart, which then I multiplied the heats four times, creating this geometric strong, bold symbol. Each “U” has a different color representing diversity, presenting different life paths, and together representing unity, accomplishing The Inclusion Initiative’s purpose and goals.

Branding revolved around the logo and its colors. This expands beyond branding. I created a stationery set, business card, folder, lanyards with workers ids, one swag item, a useful and on-brand water bottle. This item makes the organization more on brand, friendly, and welcoming in a professional manner.
