Sivar 503 Festival Poster
This was another class project focusing on subcultures, choosing one, and making it an event. I chose Salvadoran culture as my topic due to having a special place in my heart as I have experienced it for years. What was created is one promotional poster to advertise the event and get people’s attention towards it. The target audience is Salvadorans who want to reminisce their memories and experience the culture with other Salvadorans, U.S born Salvadorans that want to experience the culture, and people who don’t know the Salvadoran culture and want to learn and share it. The concept is to show part of the culture with emblematic national symbols such as the national bird, El Torogoz, and the iconic monument located in the Capital of El Salvador, El Salvador Del Mundo. Both items have a unique shape that together compliments each other. The gradient background is based on the sunset color scheme that I saw when I visited El Salvador. I wanted to show a tropical, sweet, and festive vibe and the beautiful side of El Salvador with the choice of type and lively and bold imagery. With the idea of using a few assets for the composition as a whole to be bright, playful, and inviting.
